Prada Sunglasses are a Staple of Status

Everyone recognizes the name, “Prada.” It is a signature staple in the world of fashion, and most people even recognize their trademark symbol, the small silver triangle representing their brand. Prada wasn’t always so recognizable.

Prada was first opened as a leather-goods shop in 1913, in Milan. The name was originally created as Fratelli Prada, meaning in English, Prada Brothers. During the beginning of their reign as a fashion forward family, they created quality steamer trunks and handbags, as well as their trademark, leather goods. As the name grew, Mario Prada' made his beliefs known, and they did not include women having a place in his business. None of his female family members were allowed to enter his workshop. Ironically enough, after Mario died in the 1950's, it was his daughter-in-law who took over the company, and continued to establish Prada as high-end, luxury goods for the next twenty years.

In the 1970’s, it was her daughter Miuccia Prada, who inherited the company. At the time, it was a successful company, but nothing like what it is today. Miuccia took charge and she transformed and expanded the House of Prada. She gave the name one of their biggest leaps by opening many store fronts in all of the high scale shopping areas across continental Europe, like Florence, Paris, Madrid, and New York City. Suddenly, Prada was becoming a recognized name in fashion.

From there, the empire continued to expand, when Miuccia married her business manager Patrizio Bertelli, and the two combined forces to create Prada's women's ready-to-wear collection. Next, was the infamous Prada handbag that was an overnight sensation, as well as creating their signature looks that keep them in the forefront of fashion every year at fashion week in Paris, which includes what Time magazine described as, "unassertive, combining traditional good manners and an ultramodern industrial sleekness." Prada had quickly become a well known brand and continues to expand today.

One of their latest ventures was in creating a signature pair of  Designer Womens Sunglasses and Designer Mens Sunglasses. Prada's Sunglasses today are often a visible, head turning style that leaves you wanting your own pair. Prada Sunglasses exude luxuriousness, and instantly provide a glamorous look, that you never want to take off. Prada became so popular, and was able to withstand the tests of time, because they create easy to wear, classic looks, which holds true with their Sunglasses as well. You can often find them on the likes of celebrities, athletes, and anyone who appreciates style. While Prada Designer Eyewear are often imitated, they are never replicated. The Prada Brand is a staple of status, and their sunglasses continue that tradition.
