Who would not want to live in Hawaii? Beautiful weather, warm water, great beaches, and a relaxed atmosphere is what we all need to live long, healthy lives. Did you know that Hawaiians, on average, live longer than all other Americans? While the average lifespan of a US citizen is approximately 75 years, Hawaiians increase that number by six percent; their average lifespan is approximately 80 years old. Not all of us can rush off and move into a beach side condominium in Honolulu though, unfortunately. Many of us do not have the funds to be able to move at a moment's notice, especially to an expensive location such as Hawaii. However, we can always do the next best thing: act like a Hawaiian!
The theory here, of course, is to embody the Hawaiian spirit and, by doing so, channel whatever it is that makes them live such healthy, stress-free lives. I think you should first look like a Hawaiian. Other than a great tan, you need a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses. These sunglasses were first created in Hawaii for use by Hawaiians. The Maui Jim founders believed that the islanders needed a durable pair of shades that kept their vision completely clear but did not block out the beautiful, vibrant colors that surrounded them daily. Their solution was a pair of light sunglasses that used Polarized Plus technology, which blocked all the dangerous UV rays and vision-impairing glare. With these factors weeded out, Hawaiians saw a beautiful view without the need to squint!
Once you have invested in your own pair of Maui Jim designer sunglasses, you are ready to move onto the next step of embodying the true Hawaiian spirit. It is time to learn how to hula! Throw on your Maui Jims, a coconut bra, and a grass skirt. Put that island music on in the background and start swinging those hips! The hula step is a slow, relaxed step so do not go too crazy at first. Just step to the music, move your arms like ripples as you step from side to side, and you will start feeling as though you are a true Hawaiian! Maui Jim polarized sunglasses, a hula skirt, and some Hawaiian music is all you need to feel stress-free and alive! |
