I Love Big Glamorous Sunglasses

Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always had a fascination with big sunglasses. I saw the ones that Jackie O used to wear, and many movie stars wore the same styles. Perhaps they liked the big sunglasses to hide their identities better when they wanted to go out and not be bothered, but this was not an issue for me of course. I didn’t need to hide my identity when I went out, but from age 10 I have always had a pair of oversize shaped sunglasses in my closet. Ok, maybe I have about five pairs of big sunglasses since I’ve grown up and have acquired more over the years, but I need different shades depending on the outfit I’m wearing and what I’m going to be doing in them.

If I am going out and want to look chic and sophisticated, I have a certain pair I wear to polish my fashionable look, and when I’m going to the beach, I have a different pair. I have the most fabulous pair of big D&G sunglasses for those sophisticated day, and when it’s time for the beach, I put on my Angel sunglasses, because they’re a little sturdier and sportier. When it’s time to be goofy or go with a Bohemian flower girl look, I have some great 70’s style sunglasses to complete my look. Of course, it is imperative to have the classy black pair or oversize shades by Vogue, that match anything I might be wearing, and work for any occasion. A versatile and classic pair black sunglasses is a must for any girl’s closet! The last pair I have I bought for a flamingo Halloween costume, and they have bright pink frames with some “bling bling” on the corners. They are a bit silly, but when I’m feeling like throwing my friends for a loop, I’ll wear that pair.

Why am I such a big designer sunglasses type of gal? Well, I like the glamorous and fun look of oversize sunglasses, but there is another practical reason as well. I don’t want a puny pair of sunglasses that just barely fit around my eyes. I want women's sunglasses that provide shade and protection for all of my vision, not just a small part of it. I mean, I’m not talking about clown sunglasses here, but I don’t like sunglasses that just barely cover my eyes and none of the periphery vision line. Perhaps that’s why oversize sunglasses have my accessory of choice since I was a little girl, and I don’t go anywhere without them!
